I had some leftover Phyllo Dough from the Mother’s Day Cake so I decided to try a fancy schmancy phyllo-wrapped salmon. Suprisingly delicious.
I’ve been obsessed with Trader Joe’s so I’ve used TJ’s pesto sauce and some cream and whipped up a quick sauce to go on top. This simple dinner is somewhat healthy but sure is delish!
What you’ll need:
1 4 oz. salmon fillet. (mine was frozen, so I just thawed it out)
8-10 sheets of phyllo dough
1/2 cup Pesto sauce
3 tbsp. heavy cream
Preheat oven to 375 F.
Take your phyllo dough and brush the melted butter on the entire sheet. Then layer another piece of phyllo dough on top of it. Continue until you have finished layering all 10 sheets. It should make a thick dough.
Place you salmon in the dough. Wrap tightly and use more butter to seal the edges. Cut any excess off.
Bake for about 15-20 min. I can’t really give you an exact time, just wait until the edges are golden brown.
To make the pesto cream sauce:
In a small saucepan, add pesto sauce and heavy cream. Stir and heat up until simmering.
